My Favorite Looks from 2016 + Some Highlights of the Year

2016 was a year of big change. Josh and I both started new jobs, we moved into our second apartment together, I traveled a ton and I shot some pretty great looks, if I do say so myself. Below, I've picked my favorite look from each month + some of the highlights from each month that made my year great.

I started 2016 off in San Diego with my relatives in cozy basics, like this must-have trench coat from Burberry.

In February I teamed up with Steve Madden, and these sky-high knee-high boots were in constant rotation in my wardrobe. I also traveled to Phoenix for a conference towards the end of the month and it was so good being back in my home state!

March was FREEZING in SF, and cozy basics like this Rails button down kept me warm through it all. I also went to Oregon to celebrate my best friend’s wedding for her bachelorette party, and it was cra-zy.

April was my birthday month, and I was loving the denim on denim trend. But, more importantly, I met Hillary Clinton on a work trip to NYC - and it was the highlight of my year.

May was still incredibly nice weather in SF, and this off-the-shoulder top was a must-have. I also saw Beyoncé in May, so I was feeling like a #queen all month.

June’s outfit was a little different, as I was in my best friend’s wedding. In addition to that, in June I traveled to Chicago, Portland, Washington for the wedding and then Washington D.C. for work. I ended the month with Josh’s birthday, which is always a high note to end the half-year mark on!

Oh, July. In July I went to Tahoe for a wedding, New York City for a girl’s trip / work trip, and then it was my mom’s birthday. I also collaborated with Margu to feature this incredible dress of theirs!

August was a weird, quiet month for us - I had just finished a few months of crazy travel and was gearing up to start a new job, so I laid low. Basics like this striped tee from Revolve and my trusty Dagne Dover bag helped me get through it all in style!

September was the last month I spent at Glassdoor, and Josh and I took a trip to Palm Springs to celebrate the end of something great and the beginning of something new, where this photo was taken.

October was a highlight of our year - we moved into our new apartment! It was so nice to have a little extra space, a killer view and be fully moved in. Dealing with a move is stressful, and I’m so happy it’s over - and we won’t be doing it again for a long while!

November was a tough month (hi, election, I see you and I hate you). so I did a lot of #drinking, like the above picture from Thanksgiving (lol).

December was all about comfort, between a ton of holiday parties and traveling home for 10 days to Phoenix, Wenatchee and Seattle. This grey Everlane sweater has become a go-to in my closet - I want it in every color!
