5 Little Ways to Start Celebrating Fall

Can I just say how THRILLED I am that October is here? Over the weekend I completely forgot about it—then, on Sunday, I remembered it was October (and officially fall) and went totally batshit crazy prepping our apartment for Halloween.

I'm someone who is obsessed with holidays, and really any reason to celebrate. But fall is particularly special for me, as it carries my three favorite holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

If you're maybe not as holiday obsessed as I am, there are still a lot of fun ways you can start bringing fall into your home, in even small ways.

Here are my five favorite ways to get in the fall spirit:

One // Buy pumpkins.

If you do nothing else this fall, invest in some mini pumpkins, or a big one to carve! I picked up a few real ones from Trader Joe's, and this Target felt pumpkin (it's under $4 and oh-so-cute!).

Two // Start baking!

Is there anything better than the smell of pumpkin spice wafting through your house? As I type this, I have pumpkin spice bread from Trader Joe's in the oven, and I can honestly say there's no better smell. Yum!

Three // A fall candle—you can never go wrong with a fall candle.

Most of the time I think fall candles have way too strong (and fake!) scents, so be careful about which one you bring home. I linked to some of my favorites below—I try to stick to subtle pumpkin spice, and crisp vanilla.

Four // Sip some cider.

Whether it's cold on ice or warmed up in a mug, cider is one of my all-time favorite drinks. Plus, you can really only get it for about a month in October, so hop to it! (P.S. this one from Trader Joe's is super crisp and delicious!)

Five // When all else fails—do some fall shopping.

If you're still not super into celebrating fall or decorating your house, build up a nice fall wardrobe by investing in some layers! These are some of my favorite pieces for fall:
