A Day at the Claremont Club & Spa

I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit picky when it comes to spas. I grew up in Phoenix, which is resort central, as so many people come to Arizona year-round to enjoy 365 days of sunshine and great weather. That being said, this past weekend I headed to the Claremont Club & Spa, a Fairmont property in Berkeley, California.

Berkeley is just a 20-minute drive from our apartment (my bedroom window in SF actually has a view of Berkeley) but it feels like another world. When I first arrived at the property, I noticed how genuinely friendly and helpful every single person at the hotel was, from the valet workers to the reception staff to the spa employees. I've never had more people ask me how my day was going or if I needed help finding anything. Stepping into the Claremont Spa was instantly relaxing in a kind of way that every tech worker in San Francisco truly needs.

The spa is an oasis with a relaxation room, showers, saunas and jacuzzies. I spent an hour pre-massage sitting, sipping water and reading magazines -- something I never have time for at home. Then, my name was called and I went in for my 80-minute therapeutic massage.

Let me tell you, I have truly never in my life had a better spa experience. I frequent spas in the city and even have my go-to place, but nothing was more relaxing than the 80-minute massage I had at the Claremont Spa. If you're local (or just visiting!) I highly suggest making the quick drive to Berkeley and heading to the Claremont Club & Spa (ask for Amy, she was wonderful!).

After a few hours at the Claremont Club & Spa, I feel totally relaxed and rejuvenated for a crazy week ahead. Thanks to everyone there for making my stay extremely memorable!

Special thanks to the Claremont Club & Spa for sponsoring this post.
