A New, Updated Home Tour

This is a beast of a post, so gear up for it: it's our new, updated home tour!

Josh and I have lived in our SoMa apartment for over a year and a half now, and while some things we've kept the same since we moved in, we've made a lot of little updates to brighten and lighten the space, and make certain areas more functional.

Read on to see where we got everything in our place + my favorite parts of our little home:

Not many people who live in a city apartment can or will say this, but our bathroom is VERY large. Like, oddly large. It's kind of the joke we have with anyone who enters our apartment—everyone always says "Jesus, you could fit ten people in here!" All jokes aside, I love how light and bright (and white!) our bathroom is.

- the entryway -

Since our entryway is the first thing people see when they walk in, I love that it's made up of a little nook + a long hallway that draws your eye towards the living room. We recently converted what used to be our little office area into a cozy space with a chair, ottoman, and reading light and it gets SO much more use this way.

- the living room -

Our living room is definitely where we spend the majority of our time. It's home to our TV, our record player, all of our books, our speakers, our bar, and our couch. It's also where I actually allowed some color to enter our home. I'm not usually a big fan of bright colors, but in this white, light, and bright of a space we needed to break it up with some color.

I'm a fan of oranges and reds (if I had to pick a color family) so we incorporated that into things like our TV stand and our fun rug. I think my favorite piece in this room is our bar, which is actually a kitchen island that we transformed into glass and alcohol storage (plus, it's home to my collection of Vogue's).

- the kitchen -

My favorite thing about our kitchen is that it opens up directly to our living room, so if I'm in the kitchen cooking and Josh is in the living room (or vice versa) we can still be in the same general area and chat about our days.

- the bedroom -

Our bedroom is my ultimate happy place. It's still modern and clean, but the main difference from our living room is that it's SO serene. I wanted super calming colors, mostly neutrals, and a place I could cozy up at the end of a long day and just chill.

It's also home to our walk-in closet, which I have to say I absolutely love.

- the view -

Let's be honest: one of the main reasons we moved downtown to a modern high-rise was the location and how close it was to our jobs, yes. But this view does not suck. This picture was taken from my side of the bed, and it's what I wake up to every morning. You could say that's pretty damn inspiring!
