Holiday at Home: Decorating our Apartment

If you ask Josh what my favorite time of year is, he will undoubtedly say, "December, without a doubt". I absolutely love this time of year, and a large part of that is due to how festive everything is. There are twinkle lights glowing, Christmas songs on the speakers, and presents under the tree.

This past weekend we decorated our apartment for the holidays, and I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to spruce things up at home:

one // natural greenery

I love the Whole Foods flower bar this time of year, because there's so much natural pine and greenery. I tend to buy bunches of them and place them in vases throughout our houseā€”it smells heavenly and looks the part.

two // trimming the tree

We get a real tree every year, because we love the smell and both grew up with one in our homes. I love going to pick it up, walking it home, and decorating it with our favorite ornaments.

Here are some I'm loving this year:

framebridge frames // jawbone jambox speakers // target stocking holders

three // stockings

My grandma hand-sewed us these stockings a few years back, and we absolutely love how classic they are. Our stocking holders are from Target, but here are more of my favorite stockings + holders:

four // little finishing touches

Holiday spirit is all about the little details: the cleverly placed bowls of holiday candies, fresh white and red flowers, and candles that smell subtly of pine.
