How I Keep My Skin Ridiculously Hydrated
I am someone who is pretty much always moisturizing. Whether it's in the morning after my shower, at night when I take my makeup off and wash my face, or throughout the day putting hand lotion on, I have skin that pretty much relies on lotions and potions to keep it hydrated and looking its best.
Throughout the past few years, I've learned some tricks and tips on how to keep my skin ridiculously hydrated. Here goes nothing:
1. Use a body balm.
A bit thicker and more oily than lotion, a body balm is almost like a salve and is really great for healing dry, chapped, or cracked skin. If I'm ever in between pedicures, I pop some body balm on my feet and by the morning they're super soft and silky.
2. Use a body cream after you shower.
Not moisturizing after your shower? You should be! I use a body cream daily after my shower on my legs, arms, and chest and it keeps my skin baby soft. Literally, I have people ask me what my secret is—this is it!
3. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!
I never used to exfoliate, but recently I discovered how truly wonderful it is for your skin. I prefer dry scrubs that you use in the shower and can wash right off, and some of them (like this one) have seriously great ingredients, like coffee, coconut oil, and grapeseed oil.
4. Drink a ton of water!
Seriously, if you're going to do only one thing on this list, make it this one: drink a ton of water. I've recently started drinking my body weight in ounces of water each day, which is about 125. I have a big water bottle that's about 30 ounces, so I just know I need to drink about 4 of those a day. It's a great goal to set for yourself—and you'll definitely see the results in your glowing skin!
