Instagram Update: Life Lately
Life lately has been a bit weird. Does anyone else feel that way? The past few weeks at work have been a bit more stressful than usual, Josh sprained his ankle almost a month ago and has been moving kind of slow, and I've been in and out of being sick ('tis the season!). All of these things have led to me being a bit quieter on social media // here on my blog than usual, but I'm finally feeling recharged and ready to rock the rest of October.
Here's what I've been up to lately:
One // Tartine Manufactory
Josh and I typically cook six out of seven nights a week, but we've been trying more restaurants lately—probably because of how busy we've been (and laziness), to be honest. Anyway, Tartine Manufactory is one of my favorites in the city that I've been meaning to take Josh to for months, and we finally did in September. He loved it!
Two // San Diego
My grandma turned 90 (!!) years old last weekend, so Josh, my dad, and I headed down to San Diego to celebrate 90 years of her life. It was a quick trip, but we were so happy to get to spend time with her, see her new home, and be with family. Also, how beautiful is she?!
Three // Flight Anxiety
Does anyone else have flight anxiety? I never used to be afraid of flying (in fact, I used to love it) and I travel so much, I never really thought about how bad it would be if I had flight anxiety. Last summer I was on two really turbulent flights back to back, and since then I've been TERRIFIED of flying. Like, I freak out over every single bump and land tense and exhausted.
I recently started using Headspace, and I love the daily guided meditation sessions. But I especially love their flying singles—you can listen to them before you get on the plane and they really help me calm down.
Four // Rancho Bernardo Inn
My family has been going to the Rancho Bernardo Inn for decades to stay whenever we're in Southern California, to golf, or to have brunch. Josh, my dad, and I went for brunch last weekend and it was the dreamiest end of summer day. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend stopping in!
Five // The Color Factory
Have you ever heard of the Color Factory? It's a pop-up "museum" of sorts in San Francisco where you can walk through rooms of color—a blue room that's filled to the brim with balloons, a green room where you color the walls with giant green markers, a confetti room, and (my favorite!) a giant yellow room full of yellow balls. I went with my team at work earlier in the month and went back with Josh the other day to show him—it was so fun!
