My Blog Break

Hey there. It’s been a while.

If you’ve been a follower for some time, you may have noticed I’ve been a tad radio silent (read: completely absent) for the last six or so months. Allow me to explain.

I’ve never been a traditional blogger. I’ve blogged on the side, when inspiration struck me most and because I was in need of a creative outlet. I did it for seven years, fairly consistently. And then, life got busy. Like… really busy. And with a full-time job, relationship to focus on (hey, I got engaged! More on that later…) and personal goals of my own, the blog fell by the wayside because it just wasn’t doing it for me anymore.

I work in influencer marketing, and this is something I talk about often. When your job is to be inspired all day, every day—what happens when you wake up and just don’t want to keep it going? If you’re me, you cut that thing out of your life, and that’s exactly what I did.

I’ve spent the last six months focused on me. Just living my life. Not documenting it, not feeling the need to put up three or five posts each week, not writing about things I don’t really care about because I’m a blogger and I have to—just enjoying my life. I worked hard, and I traveled for work a lot. I saw my friends. I focused on Josh, and strengthening our relationship after we hit seven years together last fall. We planned a Europe trip, and got engaged. And now, we’re planning a wedding.

There’s a lot of life that happened that I want to catch you up on. But for now, things will look a bit different here, and that’s okay with me. I’ll check in from time to time, but I’m going to finally make Dear Serendipity the place I always wanted it to be—a site I come to when I want to, when inspiration strikes—and nothing else. I’m happy to be (kind of) back, friends.
