My New Years Resolutions

I've never been huge into resolutions, mainly because I'm fairly good at setting goals for myself throughout the year, and I've never truly found the need. But there's something incredibly inspiring about making resolutions when the calendar switches to January of a fresh year -- there's this feeling that anything you want is possible. With that in mind, I've jotted down a few things I hope for in 2016:

1. Travel more. Even if it's just quick weekend trips or one-night stays, I want to see more things in 2016. There are so many local places (within a three-hour drive) that I want to explore, I want to take the time in 2016 to plan those trips.


2. Read. And not even necessarily just books -- I want to read more articles and subscribe to all of my favorite magazines that I never have time for. What's more luxurious than sitting on your couch with a stack of magazines to catch up on?


3. Learn something new. I've always wanted to be able to make my own site updates, so I'd love to take online courses in 2016 to be able to!


4. Make time for quiet. Early in the mornings when I wake up, I want to sit with my coffee for 30 minutes and read articles. At night, I want to read books before I go to bed. I would also love to start meditating or listening to guided relaxation. This New Years resolution goes hand in hand with making more time for myself.
