Our LA Trip in Review
Last weekend, Josh and I headed to LA for a long weekend. I got so many questions on Instagram about what we were doing, seeing, and eating—so I thought I would share some highlights here.
stay // at the line hotel
We decided to stay down in Koreatown, because we liked the modern vibes at The Line Hotel. We absolutely loved our stay (I would highly recommend the hotel!) and what's even better is the great restaurants they have on site.
see // pod save america at the dolby theater
At the last minute, I decided to buy tickets to see Pod Save America (my favorite podcast) at The Dolby Theater. I really wanted to see The Dolby, and it did NOT disappoint. The guests were Jimmy Kimmel and John Legend, and the night ended with Chrissy Teigen coming out on stage (my favorite!) and a surprise performance by John Legend. Definitely the highlight of my weekend!
eat // commissary
On the second floor of The Line Hotel is Commissary, an amazing restaurant by Roy Choi. It was our first stop the morning we landed for brunch and mimosas. I would highly, highly recommend you stop by if you're in LA!
eat // jon and vinny's
Alright, Jon and Vinny's was hands down my favorite meal in LA. It's been on my list forever, and it absolutely did not disappoint. We had the spicy fusilli, and it was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Plus, don't miss the swirl ice cream!
eat // the butcher's daughter
I absolutely love The Butcher's Daughter—it's a must when in Venice. We went for breakfast sandwiches, fresh acai, and of course, the amazing decor.
see // venice beach
One of my favorite places in all of LA is Venice—I love walking along the beach, visiting the canals, and seeing the beautiful homes and shops on Abbot Kinney.
see // griffith observatory
We had to do the touristy thing and head to Griffith Observatory, because the views can't be beat. Seeing the Hollywood sign and the LA skyline was beautiful, especially since we lucked out with an 85 degree, sunny day!
see // disneyland!
I'm going to say something that might shock some of you: Josh had NEVER been to Disneyland before! I had been a few times growing up, and it was a right of passage in my house. So when we knew we were going down to LA for a weekend, I immediately brought up the idea of taking a day to go to Disneyland.
I had so much fun showing him so many of my favorites—including the Tea Cups, Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn.
