Summer Recipe: The Perfect Strawberry Crumble
I am not what you would describe as a traditionally great baker. We cook quite often at home (almost every day) but when it comes to baking, I'm a real hot mess. I think it's because I'm not the most precise—in cooking, you can throw in a "dash" of something and you're fine, but in baking precision is everything and I tend to ruin things.
But we recently got a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, and I'm determined to become at least a somewhat good baker. And I've started with fresh fruit—because I can't get enough of the strawberries we're being blessed with in San Francisco. So I googled "strawberry crumble" and here we are.
It's everything I wished for and more: crumbly, buttery, sweet, and perfectly delicious with some vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream. I also love how easy it is to make, how few ingredients it has, and how great of a way it is to use up extra strawberries.
