Dry skin in the winter is a real thing, and even in more moderate climates like San Francisco it can be tough to combat. I visited my local Target Beauty Concierge the other day after work to talk to an expert about some of my winter skin woes. She explained to me how a few little changes to my current regimen can help, and provided me with a few tips for taking care of my skin not only in the winter, but all year round.

First up, taking off your makeup is key. These Simple makeup remover wipes, pictured above, are my absolute favorite—they're so gentle on my skin, which I need when the winter chills are so cruel. This is a tip I definitely live by and implement year round, but it can help during winter months as well.

Next, something you might not be thinking about—cleaning and replacing your brushes. How often do you actually do this? I'm embarrassed to say it's been over a year since I replaced mine. These Sonia Kashuk brushes are so gentle on drier winter skin.

Next, a brand I've loved my entire life: Burt's Bees. I always have chapped lips during the winter months, and that gets even worse when I travel so much around the holidays and into the new year. Burt's Bees classic lip balm is something I always have in my bag, and you should too!

Lastly, my favorite new product: Pixl Skintreats Glow Tonic. This stuff is pure magic. It's just an exfoliating toner to clear up your skin and make it brighter, even when the winter weather seems to dull everything. Give it a try!
